Title: rattle
Post by: jpo on 12 June 2016, 12:44
Afternoon all.  3 month old gti which has a rattle on the drivers side rear. Sounds like its above the tyre or around there. Not deafening by any means but it's there. Nothing in the boot and have had it for a month now. Going to take it in to be looked at but wondered if anyone had any ideas. Thanks

On mine I have had a few rattles when it was new.
1st was the boot was misaligned on the bump stops. They were adjusted
Then I had the heat shield under the car rattle.
Then I had the rear seat rattling on the lock to keep it upright. I did this myself with just wrapping a bit of tape around the striker.

Lots of people though had rear suspension rattling and some had a rattle that was caused by the transportation pugs left in the suspension.

Hope that helps

Sounds more like an internal or mechanical rattle (like I'd know!) But will look at this guys thank-you. Where exactly was it and what did you do?
