Title: Blowing Hot Then Cold

I have a 1989 8v Gti.  Recently it has developed a problem. If I put the warm blower on it blows warm air for 5mins max then starts blowing cold air.
Really want to sort this problem as its becoming bloody cold.

air lock

flush the system them refill it correctly

Either an air lock as Gambit suggests or it could be the bypass valve as golfvr6 has mentioned in previous recent posts.
