Post by: Damion on 20 May 2016, 20:06
Are any available for the R, even the small in arch ones?

Thanks

Certainly are, you can get them on ebay but they are R specific so make sure you get the right ones!

I've never seen any on an R, don't think VW do them.

Either way, I wouldn't, they look

Saw some tiny ones on the back of a Passat CC, around 6 inches, looks lovely ke the R has the same arch, they are rear only and fit right next to q panel - bumper

If anyone has links or pics of suitable mud flaps please post - I am a flap fan and have tried modifying standard and Gti flaps but the fit is very different.

Definitely need something to help keep the rear clean

Is it not the shape of the car that makes the dirt cling to the back?

Yes the shape does not help, but the less spray in the air the less dirt to stick, and flaps do reduce the airborne spray - artics use astroturf to reduce spray but I think that's going a little far on a Golf

I've ordered the tiny Passat CC rear ones, look like they will fit.
I'll let you know, should be in on Thursday

Not a fan of mudflaps on my car, but, after a wet trip up the M1 yesterday, I wish everyone else had them!
