Peeps its been a while since I have been on here however I am in a situation where I dont know whats best:
Do I change my golf mk6 GTD 170bhp for a MK4 R32 or stay with GTD?
Please please please help
What isnt helping is the GTD has done 82k and believe the cambelt needs changing at 80k? or am I totally wrong?
-
Keep the GTD, it'll be like going back to a horse and cart!
-
Make sure you want one then have that one.
-
Surely the mk4 r32 is better than the mk6 gtd???

In terms of chassis and tech no
In terms of rareness and looks then yes
Have you driven a MK4 R32??

To me the MK5 R32! now you're cooking https://www.flickr.com/photos/23574881@N06/3789594179

if a £350 cambelt is putting you off keeping a GTD you aren't ready for the running/repair costs of a Mk4 R32
-
The costs are ok and I didn't get the cambelt done as considering changing it. Checked garages and to change it in doesn't make much of a difference in what I would get hence wait and put it towards a decent service of another golf?

Keep the GTD, save for a bit longer and buy a R32 as well.

I would have a well looked after low mileage mk5 R32 as it's a dream to drive and the sound is just amazing, the fact the chassis is so nice and comfy is just a plus!

Only main problem with the 32's for me- beit mk4 or 5, is they aren't as swift as the figures (& fuel consumption) might suggest.
They might look nice & sound lovely but things have moved on- especially with the mk7
