Hi guys I ordered a Golf GTD (DSG) on 18th April, base black standard (no extras) and got to the step 2 with the factory stage just one day (19th April) after submitting the application. My lease company told me I will get my car in 12-14 weeks as estimated.
Just had a thought, because I got to step 2 just under 24 hours of submitting application for the car, is it likely for built confirmation to come in soon, so the car may be ready before 12-14 weeks? because it's full standard model spec in Black. Just curious lol
I know it's only been a few days and still will have a couple weeks to wait lol, just want to hope I can get the car as soon as possible

Welcome to the forum.
You will get the confirmed build state 4 weeks before its due for scheduled building. Then 3- 4 weeks for shipping / arriving at dealer / ready to be collected so that's 8 weeks accounted for.
So to answer your question no I don't think so. It will be a few weeks before it moves to the next stage build confirmed

This is the part everyone loves and hates in equal quantities, the choosing! then anticipation of the delivery, great! Its fun, but the waiting, o the waiting
As first adopter of the GTD mine was eventually 20 weeks, yes 5 months, and expecting the Golf R to be similar 16-20 weeks and sometime early November by time order.
You will love the GTD by the way, even in standard fayre its decently equipped, and if never had DSG before then its an addition that takes experience up a level, for me anyway.
DBP is going to be my next colour, have slowly been drawn in by it over recent weeks, and looks great with the Nogaro wheels.
Hopefully thats given you a lift, before realisation that its another 12 weeks to go sets in again

I ordered my second GTD (loaded with extras) on the 28th February, and it arrived at the dealers today (22nd April) so around 8 weeks from order.

That's a very impressive delivery time Sootchucker, you must be very exited

They do seem to be building the GTD's much quicker now.
I've always been told by dealers (Audi + VW) that a 'standard' no options car or a car 'loaded' with extras makes no difference in delivery times, they are all in a queue down the same production line... unless of course you manage to get a standard car that has already been built for stock...
I was going to remove the pan roof from my GTD order to see if it would take any time off and was just told no.

As Kalimom said, that's quite quick considering I ordered mine 25th Feb and mines still at emden port waiting to be shipped over, but it'll be worth it!!

And the annoying thing is for you guys still waiting - I'm in no hurry to pick it up
My wife's new Polo Blue GT is on the ship on it's way from Portugal, so we'll be waiting for that to arrive and picking them both up together. To be honest, after the last debacle where my first GTD took 24 weeks, I was quite taken aback, but as I already have a very similar motor, (albeit the new one is a different colour and better spec), it will just be like driving my current one, which is the reason why I'm not quite as excited as last time.
Don't get me wrong, I love the car (otherwise I wouldn't have ordered another one), but there's no mystery in the new one as I know what I'll be getting if you know what I mean ?
