Post by: Leggz11 on 13 April 2016, 18:18
I have fitted after market alloys 19's DRC DRM and. spigot rings 57.1MM- 73.1MM had the tracking done the wheels balanced and still get vibrations at 70MPH plus wondering as they are plastic and not metal is this maybe why ? Any help appreciated

Hi Leggz,
It's a possibility but unlikely so long as the bolts are done up tight and they don't protrude from the back of the wheel stopping the hub/disc and wheel mating together tightly.

Try moving the wheels around to different axles/sides and seeing if it's any different.
Also try putting the wheels and tyres on a wheel balancing machine and lightly hold a bit of chalk against the tyres back and front, and against the alloys to see if there are any buckles or tyres misshaped.

I had an old GTI years ago that drove me nuts for ages, tried all sorts, it ended up being a tyre gone out of shape. Impossible to see with the car on the ground.

Chances of it being spigot rings are very slim, whell bolts loose of balancing thats the nirm un,ess you have serious problem somewhere
