hi there moving up from a mk 5 gti to a mk 7 gti dsg my consumption seems to be a lot more is this because its only running in 345 miles on clock .. cheers
-
Yep. Give it 20k and it will improve slightly
-
Depends on what you mean by "a lot more".....figures?
-
After 30,000 miles my average fuel consumption is around 38.5mpg (even with the fairly old tech 6 cog wet DSG box). Happy with that :)
-
I there not complaining love the car its just a massive technical jump from the mk 5 I had go loved that car , I just thought being 2016 it would have been better economically ,,I suppose I could put in eco mode lol
-
I could get 40mpg out of my mk7 GTI with a bit of effort. Struggled to get mid thirties in mk5.
Mk7 R has similar fuel economy to a mk5 but mk7 GTI pretty good on fuel if you're cruising, that extra torque makes it so much more economical.

Manage to break my record

Surely we don't jump from a diesel to a 2.0 petrol and complain the fuel consumption isn't as expected...
I for one know I ain't gonna get out of my Gti wot my A3 was doing or the wife's scirocco I got the Gti for what it is stuff the extra fuel lol diesels only do well wen your doing the millage to warrant one if your not you can end up with more problems.
I'm happy the A3 going to a good home a mate of my sons so all good....
