Hi guys (and girls of course!) this is my first post so i hope i have done this right im new to forums!! So i have been over the past couple of years been building my mk2 golf with a 1.8 20v turbo nothing unusual there. A few bits i have done that arent what everyone does but its a fairly regular setup, forge intake, k03s, 2.5" straight through exhaust, 2.5" boost plumbing and intercooler, saab red top injectors (the smaller of the two) standard management. Now comes the big problem that i am pulling my hair out with!! When i took it for its custom re map we encountered a problem that none of us had ever seen the trigger wheel for the crank sensor appears to be about 20 degrees out!! So as standard it would only make 120bhp and when mapped it had to be done 20 degrees out so that when i rectified the fault it would be up to full power as a result its barely driveable because as it hits about 3k if your not flat out the ecu tries to shut down due to the crank angle! So i brought another engine to chuck in and job done only problem is when i timed both engines up the trigger wheel and sensor are exactly the same?!!?! I have tried swapping cams knock sensors crank and cam sensors and no joy am i missing something? Is there anyone local with the same conversion that can spare some time to try my ecu and allow me to plug in and get some readings im surrey based but im willing to travel?!
