Title: Mk3 anniversary interior
Post by: Setch20 on 27 March 2016, 19:12
Hi everyone!
New member, and new proud owner of a MK3 GTI Wolfsburg edition. Was just wandering if anybody had a anniversary interior for sale or had a tips on getting the seat cloth. Any help appreciated

No it's not. Perhaps I am wrong and it is not a wolfsburg edition, it had a funny sticker on the bootlid and presumed this was what it was. Apologies.

No worries, the Wolfsburg thing comes up now and again lol.

Interiors do come up from time to time.I sold a one recently without doorcards for £250.They range in price due to condition, something between £150 to £300/£400 .

Condition is paramount though .

There are other options though, the seats from quite a few others models will fit,Seat VW's.Some go straight in,others need minor alterations.

Seat Ibiza half leather for instance

Ok thanks,

Yeah not too bothered about the condition as such, I'm fortunate to have a good, yet reasonable, trimmer who works only a few miles away and so I'd have repairs done there.

Missed out last night on a pair of front seats which went for just under £40, but then I'd have to search for back seats so that was probably a good thing.

The seats I have no are in pretty good condition, they're recaros and very clean. I just really like the pattern of the anniversary seats and haven't seen anything like them before, just so bloody hard to find!

The seats do pop up from time to time.  The key is not to pay over the odds for them.  Often not described is whether they suit 3 or 5 door so keep an eye on that and also, some came with rear headrests.

From some of the sets I have seen the material shows no rips but it's the condition of the foam underneath that deteriorates.  I'd be interested to find out if your trimmer has a solution for foam repairing???

Foam repair is fairly easy to sort out as its normally the drivers seat that takes the whack. If you take the foams of another passenger seat you can sort it out.If its an anni interior and its only the black area that is gone you can use the black stuff from a base model gti to repair the area if you know a good seamstress as the parts are the same.

You'll make your money back on the Recaro's for sure so not such a big deal if you have to pay over the odds for a set of anni's.

Anniversary seats are just normal Mk3 Gti seats underneath, just source foam from a passenger seat.
-its quite time consuming to do the swap, but really rewarding firm seat.

Also the black bolster material is the same as standard, so a worn panel could be un-stitched & replaced.

4 door cloths can be used on 3 door seats, only need the hole cut for the seat back latch.
