Title: Lambda B1 S2
Post by: Dalo Harkin on 23 March 2016, 16:47
Hi Guys,

I did a quick search before and found that the B1 S2 is the post CAT sensor. As I have a sports CAT am I best off just blocking it off with a plug you can get then getting it mapped out eventually? (I'm getting codes 16524, 17521, 17522, 17526 which all relate to lambda)

Any advice is always welcome :)

Could get it mapped out. Or slap a lambda in it and. Cure the codes.

Just trying to weigh it up because from what I have read all it measures is if the CAT is working or not, as mine is a sports CAT I was thinking is there any way to add one of the plugs to block it off and then add a resistor of some kind to stop the faults until its mapped out eventually?

Well from what I found out from the local mot tester is that eml isnt a fail. Or so he said.  What my mate did on his s3 was leave the lambda in but have it mapped out.
Dont know if you cam put a resister in to stop it throwing a light.
Infact im sure my mums s3 doesnt throw a light dor second lambda. As hers isnt reading right but light only comes on when it picks up the knock sensor fault.

I'm not getting any lights, its just throwing the codes, I don't want to spend £40 on a new lambda when it doesn't actually do anything because I have a sports CAT, it doesn't appear to effect performance in any way just annoying with the codes. Think I will just leave it in and then eventually get it mapped out, I'm going water meth and bigger injectors soon (next 6m) and that's when it'll be getting mapped again

If you remove lamba you wont get a light then mate. So you could do that then as you say get it mapped out when water meth and injectors are fitted
