Title: new purchase
Post by: hardmonkeys on 20 March 2016, 12:57

finally back in MK5 ownership!

bought myself a GT Sport TDi 140, I was interested in the 170, but I thought i'd stick with what I know, I had a MK5 GT Tdi back in 2010 until 2014, and loved it, traded it for an Audi A4 B8 Multitronic and regretted it since,

She is 3 dr and has full heated Black leather, mileage is high-ish, at 137k, but it has full service history and the turbo has been replaced last year. cost £3750, not sure if that's reasonable, but looking at prices the last few weeks, it seems ok, I'm very happy with it.

I 'think' the GT Sport was a slight facelift for 2008. I think they have darker headlights and a few other trim and cosmetic changes

Don't think there was much else  :undecided:

Thanks, it didn't seem that much difference, still love it all the same. Very happy with it.

Just making plans for modding now, not sure if it's Because I'm used to the power-weight ratio of other A4, but this feels Quick!! Not sure if it's been remapped, it will be interesting find out.

Always liked these. Never made the leap to them though.
Mk2 - mk5 is a jump in tech

Look forward to seeing what you do with it

It won't be quick modding, as I still have a lot of time and money to plough into my project Mk3.5 Cabrio...but I'll try do something

Sport edition has darker halogen headlight inserts (grey instead of silver) and rear privacy glass. There was also a couple of minor upgrades but it's been a while since I last had one and I've forgotten:)

Ahh, thanks

I do like the rear privacy glass, I said to the wife, if I get a 3 door, I'd like to get the rears tinted, was surprised to see I didn't need to.

I had an annoying rattle, sounded like something was rolling about under the trim in the boot, ended up removing trim pieces one by one to see what it was, ended up being a 10mm 3/8 socket, careless lol

So I've gained a 10mm socket, and a quiet cabin. Win win  :smug:
