Hello all. I recently had the gearbox and clutch changed on my MK4 and before the car went in there was no juddering at all. Took it to the garage they advised me the gearbox was naffed which I thought was messed up and the clutch release bearing needed changing. So I got a 2nd hand gearbox in good working order along with a new clutch from euro car parts. Got the parts installed drove the car home and there was severe juddering as well as the steering not aligning properly when turning meaning that turning left is fine but turning right is awful. Any thoughts?

Take it straight back to the garage mate
A problem that large should be corrected free of charge (unless the gearbox was knackered when you got it, in which case they could blame that on you)

I don't think it's the gear box because it changes gears perfectly. When you drive the vehicle the steering is really wayward. Turning left is fine but turning right is a rightmare

They may not of installed dogbone mount correctly?

I will have a look at the dog bone mount. Would that be affecting the steering?

What brand of clutch?
