Title: Alloy/tyre/Scratch Cover
Post by: jpo on 29 February 2016, 18:17
Hi folks
As I've posted before, my gti was robbed a few weeks back (still no replacement, Smith Knight Fay really dragging their feet).

When i purchased my car i opted for the alloy wheel, tyre and minor damage repair cover. I've claimed once on the minor repair cover-although the car was stolen before the work was carried out and I never cancelled the job-the others I've not used. Spoke to the company involved to cancel the policies and was told no refunds would be offered, not even on a pro rata basis-the cover still has two and a half years to go.

I am just wondering if anyone knew if this was definitely the case or if I had any chance of getting my money back.

Thanks in advance.

Did you get any terms and conditions with the sale? Might be worth having a look in there.

The alloy wheel refurb insurance, only covers the original owner on a specific car.
Unless you are unbelievably careless and intend to own the car for the full 3 years, it is a waste of time.
