Hi all, I need help, the turbo intercooler pipe has come loose and I need to replace, where can I get a new or used one from, looking at the bit that's loose it has a number 5 on the pipe, it's L shape and at the top end near windscreen, as you have probably worked out, I'm not mechanical or technical minded so go easy with me. Based West London. Thanks in anticipation.

Your local VW dealer, or breakers yard.

Was not sure if VW dealers dealt with old models, will give them a try.
eBay had one for my year and model but did not look the same, may go and have a look as it turns out they are local breakers but not happy using second hand.
Thanks anyway.

I would have thought it would have been easy Googling for diagram of part and clip fittings,
the pipe on my car has Number 5 on it, but can not see any clip to hold it in position?.

Might not be the cheapest but your local dealer will be able to look up exactly what you need. All mk4 parts should be available still and for years yet.

Result, online with InchcapeVolkswagen, who put me through to local dealer Chiswick W4, Keith in parts department emailed me a parts page with all parts and numbers for intercooler pipes, pick the part and all clips needed, two days to get parts and pay when collecting £65.45 including vat, breakers £30 and no clips, worth the peace of mind. What a helpful company.

Thanks, got there in the end, hope this is OK, if not do what you have to to improve or delete.

Looks like you worked it out.
Great service from the dealer there - they aren't all useless :)

Got parts and fitted, question, the pipe is in and locked in with locking clip, but able to pull pipe out about 3mm though still locked in to clip. Have taken car for a short drive though did not push hard no problem, check pipe after and looks fine, but still got the 3mm play, is this normal.
Mods, should these questions be moved to Mk4 forum or OK to carry on newbie forum?.
