So fitted my new wheels yesterday evening, had time this morning to give the car a clean.
It would of been rude of me not to drive out to my fav photo location and take a few pics.
PS 10 minutes after these pics were taken I Kerbed the front drivers wheels going thru McDs drive in, first time in years I Kerbed a wheel, straight to get fixed Monday morning, bit concerned they will get the same finish as original though

Looking good Cossieian. VW really can design nice wheels! Hows the ride on the 19's?

Absolutely fine mate tbh, although it was a bit bumpy when in it the kerb ha ha ha
-
Im sure you could have cried.

Im sure you could have cried.
For about 30 seconds and then I just accept it, if I wasn't as fussy I'd just leave it as it ain't too bad BUT I know next time I wash it I,l see it and it will frustrate the hell out of me
-
Looking good Ian, as always!
Gutted for you hitting the kerb  but these things happen.
Tempted to get a set of these myself in the summer once I've shifted some of my other wheels.

Quite right mate, it sucks but it fixable, no harm done
-
I think yours is one of the nicest red mk7 R's I've seen Cossieian and it's colour co-ordinated with the steelwork in the car park
Sorry about the wheel; I'd be the same as you and have to get it repaired. At least it's less hassle to get repaired than a diamond cut alloy.

One word Ian.........WOW!
No, let's make it two..........STUNNING!
Absolutely worth your dogged pursuit of the Pretoria. Somehow they look elevated on your car. Agree with SRGTD, quite possibly the best TR 7R around the forums.
PS: I feel like I personally know that car park.

Noooo.   Get it repaired asap and put it behind you.

Prefer the BBS
Of all the (many) wheels Ian's had on his R so far, though I like BBS, they were my least favourite.
Ian, what's top of your lineup?

I'm totally with you on that Becs, I absolutely loved the BBS as the start but now I'm just not so sure about them.
Where as the Ispiris I didn't like at all (as you know) and I now think they are my fav.
I do like the Prets, BUT I think I've got so used to Anthracite or black that silver just looks a bit well, dare I say.....plain??
I'll give it time to see how I feel.
But if I were to sell a set it would be the BBS I'm afraid
-
Stunning. The prets are far and away the nicest oem VW wheel today.
But I also liked those bbs wheels you'd fitted.
-
Very nice.just get the wheel repaired and enjoy.
-
If they've got to go to the trouble of mixing a paint match for that wheel, i'd ask them to mix a little extra for future touch ups (stone chips etc.)
-
Certainly got gloss Ian  You're right to get it fixed asap and carry on - our local Micky D's got refurbed and the drive thru has really tight high kerbs - you'll just have to give up on the big macs
For what it's worth I still love the dark contrast of the Ispiris

Someone else posted this a while ago about getting the right colour match so I made a note of it just in case I ever need it !!
Pretoria alloy colour. LZ49 is the code, it's an Audi colour called Steel Dunkel.
Hope this helps. At least the Pretoria is not Diamond cut

That's super mate Thankyou so much, I have been nervous slightly about the colour match so that's a massive help
BTW: the BBS have now been provisionally sold  as much as I liked them, I kinda lost the love for them compared to the others, so these will make way for something else.
Didn't really need to sell them but I'm trying to limit myself to 4 sets at a time
Any suggestions what to try next??

4 sets at a time? I bet your car has more changes of clothes than you do!.

What are you like Ian. Limit to 4 sets! I hope your mrs has loads of shoes and handbags to even things out.
Seems like 2 sets is all you need:
Inspiris for winter; Prets for summer. Sorted.

Don't worry Becs, my wife is well sorted, bringing her to Jo Malone today and she has WAY more bags than I have wheels
I could never sell my original Cadiz, looked at them yesterday and they do look good
Actually rather proud of myself for selling the BBS as I never thought I would go through with it

Oooh, Jo Malone candles and scent....Mmmm!
I forgot about the Cadiz. I've tried to like them but failed!

Yes Becs, she's looking the new perfume range whatever it's called, I'm sure you know Jo Malone has some strange names for their products
I have to say with only 2 days in I'm rather liking these, usually takes me ages to decide if I like or don't like

If so they look pretty damn good

No, although very similar they are bigger and seem to dish in more, a few other small differences also.
I love them

Haha, yeah some weird and wonderful perfume names, but Mrs C probably thinks the same about your wheels.
I'm glad you've taken so quickly to the Prets, especially after all your efforts to obtain them. Obviously I'm a bit biased, but they really are a lovely, lovely wheel. I'm so pleased to leave behind diamond cut VW wheels.
You've probably seen, but there's a couple of people that have have had their Prets resprayed Anthracite and they look great. I've got some pics of someone else's that they sent me. Let me know if you want to see what they look like.
Those dished Cadizesque ones on the R420 look better than the standard Cadiz.
-
Yes please do I'd really like to see that, who knows I might get the other 3 done at the same time
-
Don't want to hijack but can I ask for the specs of the Pret wheels?
8X19? ET48?
-

Ian, I'll PM the pics to you later on tonight.
