Post by: cebbes30 on 26 February 2016, 17:30
Hello,

I have a guestion about the working of a park assist in a golf 7.

I think that the Park Assist Always works on the background even when you not activated the button!

So today i have experiens this many times, when i stay still on the traffic light and i activated my car Park Assist i see that the car have find a place to park en tells me to shift the gaer backwords to activate te steer assist so it wil park.
Why this is Always on, the button have made to activated the park assist.
Can anyone confirm that this is normal with park assist om a golf MK7.

I've found the same, quite often I press the button and it is already aware of a space I've just driven past. Nice system and smarter than the previous version I had on my Mk6

Maybe other poeple can confirm this.
So the retrofit has work good.

I had another play with mine this morning, and yes it does 100% seem it works in the background automatically. When I pressed the button it already knew about a space I'd just driven past.

I also discovered if you try to go too fast it slams on the brakes and beeps at you with 'Brake Intervention' on the screen
