Title: central locking
Post by: sparkplug on 18 February 2016, 19:52
on my "type 19",1986 5 door GTI

so the central locking has had a brain fart   , it unlocks.. although the pump seems to run slightly longer than before..
but it wont lock ...
does the lock on the drivers door control the system ?
as it locks with a vacuum , & opens with air pressure ....cant find any leaks so suspect electrics
any suggestions ?

On mine, yes the drivers door controls the rest.
When mine failed, a small metal rod had come unattached from the drivers door pump.
Re-attaching fixed the issue.
