Hi all,
This week I had an "ACC and front assist not available", normally I just turn the car on and off and it goes, this time it persisted and then the engine warning light came on. It's booked into VW next week, but the odd thing is the idle, instead of idling at a steady 800rpm, its going between 1200-1600 continuously like I'm revving the engine.
Anyone had this before, I need the car for work, am I damaging it by driving around and sounding like I'm trying to burn everyone off at the lights? :evil:

Was the car down on power too? This happened to mine at a time when the car drove like it had no turbo. It happened twice and then I needed a new turbo. I had a higher than normal idle, but not varying - the ACC/front assist was not available and the EPC engine warning light came on (yellow not red alert).

No, I can't say it feels down on power. It appears to drive like normal apart from when I'm not on the accelerator in which case it's idling strangely.
I've got a yellow epc light. I'll see what the dealership says, it's all well and good having loads of toys on the car, but there's more to break!

My mistake, it's the cat converter warning lighy according to the manual. :rolleyes:

I had all the symptoms you had logged twice (the second time the turbo seemed to be fine) which led tp a dodgy turbo being diagnosed. I dong think that the EPC light is exclusive to a catalyst error. My turbo failing had nowt to do with ACC assist sensor and yet it came on with the EPC light.

Got the car back now, strangest thing was that the lights went out the day before it went in.
The technician said that all the errors pointed to the oil filler cap not being on, but when he checked it was seated ok. I'm not sure what happened as I haven't needed to put any oil in it recently, so I guess we put it down to cosmic rays.
With the cap not on right, the engine get's the wrong amount of air so the air sensors go haywire, and because everything is connected it complained all the other systems had failed.
Everything appears to be ok now :huh:
