Title: Code Reader
Post by: Layfs on 16 February 2016, 16:19
I have a wifi OBD2 scanner that I have used on other vehicles including a mk4 golf but when I plug it into my wife's mk3 it does not power on.  I've tested it in another vehicle as I thought it had broken but is fine.

Is it a simple case of buying a USB cable rather than the wifi version or could there be something broken with teh actual OBD port in the car?

Thanks

Chances are it's a duff diagnostic port..you know anyone with another OBD plug? Or a full diag system? Might be worth an ask,

It might physically plug in but that's about as far as you are going to get:

Might do, might not, comms are often flaky on cheap kkl cables.
