Title: Airbag light! HELP
Post by: Jimmer13 on 14 February 2016, 00:34
Help! I have a 2000 1.9 tdi, perfect running order, in great condition! But I have the airbag light on and it won't go out.
On the diagnostic it reads "Code 00588 - airbag squib circuit, driver. Too high impedance. Permanent"
I have changed the squib twice, I have changed the wiring inside steering wheel, cleaned all yellow connections. Even taken seat out and removed the connection underneath and soldered together.
What else can I do, if I can't get the light out it will fail the MOT, the car is far to good to give up on.
Many thanks
Jim

If you have changed the squib(spiral cassette)then potentially could be the actual drivers airbag.
I shouldn't tell you this but you can break the airbag led/bulb and all an mot tester can do is advise srs bulb doesn't illuminate.
