Title: Mk 7 Gti price opinions>
Post by: Gtiless on 10 February 2016, 19:35
I am thinking now of maybe moving to a Mk7 again,I think an R as much as I would like one its perhaps more than I need,(its only a 2nd car/toy to me not a daily driver,I am lucky enough to drive a van daily!)so....

I have seen a Das Welt used Gti 14 plate (March '14)5 door 17k miles,DSG carbon grey, otherwise poverty spec. It comes with a 2 year service pack (2 services) (it should come to me a t 17k having just had a service shouldn't it?)

With the "Golf event" the dealer will give a £1k contribution if I take it on a PCP which I intend to settle during the 14 day cooling off period.

It is £20500 approx. Does this sound a reasonable deal do you think?

I have a 60 plate Gti as trade in they have up to now offered £11,300 for it?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts or input!

If its 19,500 with 1k contribution, id say its ok from a VW dealer, not sure on your PX as i haven't looked any mk6's for a while.

Thanks,yes thats right, forecourt price £20500 less the £1k dealer contribution,so I suppose a real £19500.

I am still trying to convince myself I am doing the right thing!

Have you tried Carwow, I'm sure I read a week or 2 ago that they were offering a brand new gti for £23500

The deposit contribution is already in that price and you could get an extra £1000 off as you already have a VW

Yeah, thanks, I have run the same spec (obv nav is now standard) by carwow today best price is £25967,so I assume that includes the PCP deposit but the £1k loyalty would come off that so £24967 so it adds another £4.5k to the deal, mmmmm,I dont know really.

£24281 with 1k loyalty discount from drive the deal if you take PCP, I think £19.5k for one on the forcourt is quite reasonable, you also get 2 years warranty now i think. A new one is only 5k more but it's a lot of money to find.

Just to add if you did go for second make sure you do pay it off or it might cost you more than a new one as the APR is higher on second hand ones.

Anyway I have put a deposit on it- it boils down to £11.5k for my Mk6 (I owed circa £1700 on it) so in the end its going to be after I pay the PCP off in the first week (for the £1k contribution) my car plus £9300.

As someone said, you always get robbed but I think its OKish.
