Hi
I have a genuine set of R32 18" alloys on my GTD that I use over winter with my winter tyres on and they are in need of refurbishment.
I'm wondering whether to buy a new set of alloys or just get these refurbished.
I'm also wondering what sort of price I can get for the alloys as they are as I don't think it'd be worth me getting them stripped and painted would be worth it if I was selling?
Any thoughts?

I'd get them refurbished. Should only be £150-250 whereas replacing them will be upwards of £500 since you'll be wanting clean ones.
If you opt for new wheels these are quite a good price for some new genuine alloys, wouldn't go with reps some are poor build quality

No mention of what style r32 alloys he has. Just a suggestion don't think you'd get genuine alloys any cheaper.

Had a quote from a good refurbisher (Metal Magic in Barnsley) and it's £240 all in including tyre refitting and balancing. Bit more than I thought it might be but not too bad.
I was toying with graphite but I think on my black car, silver will be best

I always found the darker you go the smaller wheels look  but this is only my opinion

Try CAS coating in idle, Bradford. £20 a wheel powder coated and they always cum out looking stunning. Loads of mates have used them

Ours has 18" Monza Shadow wheels (diamond cut main face alternating with gloss black). No kerbing, just starting to show signs of milking underneath the finish and some of the black gloss finish starting to flake off.
Only been quoted between £110 & £120 ... Per wheel.
As expected too, no guarantee with the diamond cut refurb work because they won't guarantee the durability of what's going on beneath the diamond cut finish (if deterioration has started underneath the finish once, we can't guarantee it won't return). So to quote one honest company. You might spend all that money and in 6 months time, it could be back
Decisions decisions.

I've had mine refurbished once and it has returned, going to get them powder coated in smoke chrome, all 5 for £180.

Pristine did my refurb last time at about £90 a wheel including carriage, did a good job, but all it takes is a stone chip or something similar for it start corroding again, can't be arsed with that again so just going to get them powder coated.
