Ok so whilst washing my Golf on Sunday, one of the side indicators sort of... came off, in my hand. It looks like it was knocked off sometime in the past and was reattached with what looks like doublesided sticky tape. Which is... nice  Anyway, I figured I might as well get a new one (maybe a clear pair?) and was hoping someone on this here board of supreme wisdom might have either a link as to how to do this (bear with me, I'm a REAL noob) or maybe talk me through it through the medium of typed text. Is it a hard job? It doesnt look like it (reattaching it atleast) but completely replacing them doesn't look quite the piece of cake it could be for a cack-handed mong like me.
How could I reattach the fooker in the meantime? I mean it stays in place but isn't physically attached to the car anymore. Sticky tape seems all a little too much like a MacGuyver solution to me...

mk2 you just need to get a knife, and keep it away from the paint, then on the door side, there is a little clip behind the rim of the indicator, you just need to slide the knife inbetween that and the bodywork and the clip just needs pushing in, and it will pop out. Simple as push and click to replace.

get them from somewhere like german and swedish, at least you know it shouldn't be cheap tat. the ones i got from them were in-pro, which are a quality brand of lighting stuff.

Now that's a quick response... blimey
So I assume that presumably if it was held on with nasty tape, that the clip must have snapped off?
Super! I'll get a replacement ordered asap.
