Hello,
I am about to buy my first Golf (I have had a Starship Enterprise mileage Audi A3 for the last two years) and I want the 16v rather than the 8v as the power figure is better than the Audi. I have read through Grovits MK3 buying stream but I wandered if there is any specific things to look for on the 16v? Also are there any sure fire ways to tell if the car has been mistreated by a boy racer? I have £2000, will this get me a decent one or am I better off spending this on a good 8v rather than a bad 16v?
All advice is welcome

theres a low milage (79k), just gon on for sale in anniversary green, in cars for sale, sounds a clean en, with couple of extras...

there is a buyers guide at the top of this section..
check the history very carefully.. .. and the mileage certainly sounds low for the age..
also the cam belt is due around 65K.. so be sure thats been done
as for if the price is good.. i'm not sure what 16vs go for these days...

i've got a mate with a 16v for sale too, it's got 18's and full heated black leather, only bad thing is that it's red, not my favourite colour, pm me for his e-mail, reckon 2grand may buy it, it's a 94' M plate
