Hi all,
New here so please be gentle. Bought my first GTI last week and absolutely love it  Its a 2011 and has the LED tail lights. The only problem is the reverse light is non existent!!! When reversing into my driveway I can't see a thing in the dark - thank god for parking sensors!
Has anyone else found this with their LED tail lights? Is it possible to install a brighter bulb? I might have to start turning my rear fog lights on to see where I'm going!
Cheers!

Are they genuine vw as the real things are expensive so people fit ones the find off eBay, and are they as good as genuine ones?

I have the genuine LED rears and the reversing lamp is not good, however I have also fitted the LED number plate lights and they give good illumination to the rear. I have tried to fit an LED bulb in the reversing light, but cannot find one that works.
You can also try the old trick I was told about years ago, of switching on the Fog light (and hazard lights) to give more light to the rear.

I use my hazard lights too.

I used led bulbs for reverse lights on my old car. They looked smart but for visibility were much worse than standard bulbs.

Thanks for the responses guys. Yes, I've resorted to using the rear fog lights to help me see. Luckily its only on my drive way so won't look like a chief in public!

Hazard lights again to reverse!? Do you only move every other second when you can see ;-p
