Title: Steering rack or pump

Every since purchasing my car the steering one way has been light with the steering the opposite direction heavier.

What would i look at replacing first? Steering rack or power steering pump?

I dont think its the pump as they just provide pressure & always flows the same way.
Its valves in the rack that controls the pressure to each side
you may have some debris in you system partially blocking the flow of fluid, unsure if this can be cleaned out
