Title: Bi-Xenon and HID Kit Installation
Post by: h10_vwg on 07 January 2016, 09:12
I have recently got myself aftermarket Bi-Xenons with the 15 SMD LED'S and  6K,35W HID kit

I have remoted the front bumper, grill, fog lamps etc..

when I have plugged in the new headlight with HID kit, the DRL's are not working?
I was under the impressions, this is plug and play.

Has anyone upgraded to the lights with HID's?

I was thinking it may be a Coding issue which can be enabled by a VAGCOM but advise was be much appreciated.

Many of these kits only have the LEDs working as sidelights rather than as true DRLs. There is a way connecting the pins of the connector (4 and 10 I believe) to get the DRLs working.

Easy to check if this is the case, do they light up when you turn the sidelights on?

Yes, the DRL's work perfect when the side light is turned on!

I managed to pick up a set with the HID kit and it all seems to be working perfect!
The installation was pretty long but all worked well! :)

cheers
