Title: Golf R - Race Mode & Steering
Post by: Juicetin on 05 January 2016, 10:22
Quick question folks for those with an R...is activating Race Mode supposed to add weight to the steering (like you can set in Sport in individual mode) because it doesn't in mine?

Yeah, it get pretty heavy, biggest change is between comfort and race if you want to compare. You can pretty much move comfort with one finger, try that with race mode and it's gonna hurt your finger

In mine:
I choose "sport" steering from Individual Mode = steering is very heavy
I choose "Race" in Driver Profile = steering stays the same as normal

Correct , or not ?

On my 65-plate car the steering is appreciably heavier set to Sport in Individual mode than it is in Race mode. So pretty much the same as you, however I've a friend with a 14-plate car and the steering in his in Race mode feels as heavy as mine in Individual mode with the steering set to Sport.

Thanks for confirming. Mine is 65 plate too, perhaps they changed the steering weight in Race on later cars.

To be fair I think the weight in Race is spot on. It feels artificially heavy in Individual, particularly just off centre.
