VW0001-16
An inflationary price increase on all models and options (except Touran and Tiguan) takes effect from 1 February 2016.
Just in case anyone thinks there dealer is making it up to get them to order there is a price increase as of the 1st of February.
GTD going up by £325
GTI and R going up by £300
There for as a result expect lead times to increase slightly due to an influx of orders.
Regards,
Your helpful dealer

Thanks for the info - I'm surprised VW have the brass neck to do that while the NOx scandal is still affecting sale (or at least perceived to be by the media).

Little hard to swallow really especially as the Golf is already one of the most expensive models in it's class, and the performance models only had a large price increase middle of last year (albeit with a spec change).
-
will it affect already ordered cars?
-
Nope your price is agreed at the time of order.

They've got to pay their fines somehow
@Gingernick no not unless you want to change your spec after the price increase comes in to effect. I believe it then has to be put through as a new order so would be new price.
The price increase came in during my GTD order and VW changed the service plan from a one off payment to monthly payments which worked out a lot dearer. I was pretty annoyed that I hadn't included it at the time but my dealer was able to put it through at the old price one off payment.
