Title: DSG vs Manual Golf Gti (yes another)
Post by: DSGvsManual on 29 December 2015, 08:01
okay so I have done a little bit of research and I seem to be 50/50 on weather to get a manual Golf GTI (2005-2008) or the automatic DSG. I have not driven for long (about 1.5 years) and I kinda know how to drive a manual (not fluent yet) but never owned one. I want the manual just because so I can be more involved and because I want to learn one and own one but some people say the DSG gearbox is just soo good its not worth it. I am also interested in speed, handling and having fun driving hence the reason for me wanting the quicker DSG gearbox with paddle shifters.

Let me know the facts and what you think.

So many threads on this - have a search. Ultimately, it's your decision.

I prefer manual myself but if commuting and a lot of stop start traffic I could see the benefit of dsg.
In saying that I've seen a lot of people swear by manual and then saying they'll never go back after owning dsg. I'd say it really depends on your driving style and what sort of driving you do.
