I have been trying to remove my Kenwood DNX5240BT from my Golf GTI Mk5 but failing miserably. I have the appropriate keys that came with the stereo when I bought it originally and I insert them the either side of the unit and click them in place but the stereo will not budge. Any ideas on to get it out or if it might be held in by something other than the retaining system that the keys are meant to unlock? I did not fit the unit myself when I bought it hence the reason for not being certain as if anything else may be holding it in place.
Any guidance or tips will be appreciated

Release keys are a pain in the a$$. You have to be persistent, carefully rattle them in position, you will most likely need to put a fair amount of upward lift on the levers to get the unit to move.
