Hi, The problem is the drivers door handle key lock is not turning to open door. I use this rather than key fob on alarm as alarm goes off for no reason. However when I could not open door with key I switched alarm on and blipped key fob and door and central locking works perfectly well. It is just the operation of using key that does not work. I have removed handle and is well greased but not removed barrel yet as is working again. What should I clean Barrel with and also have these got to be greased after cleaning. Are the locks easy to remove, I can't see how the white lever is disconnected from lock. Also is the white lever purely for the function of the lock button inside (one that screws on operating rod next to window)
Cheers

to remove the handle you need to take of the trim strip on the outside of it first. could be plastic or chrome. behind that you will find a screw toward front of car. there is also a screw going into the handle on the back of the door(above door latch). remove both screws then carefully manouver the handle out. once handle is out you will see a Philips head screw holding the lock into the handle. remove screw and push lock out

.....also, leave the key in the lock when you remove the barrel, or barrel will fall to bits!
