.......or should I say grey/brown Monday. A month without a wash/detail. I try to pretend it's not my car.
One day, it will be clean again, maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but one day soon.

Don't worry poor 'R', you can come and love with me if you feel too neglected

I'll send the poor unloved R over to you. You work your magic on it. Then I want it back.

But we all know that deep down you are really excited about bringing her back from the brink!

But we all know that deep down you are really excited about bringing her back from the brink!
Ordinarily I'd agree, but it's very close to going over the brink! And I'm tipping from 'challenge and excitement' phase, to 'utter despair' phase.
Still if you think that's dirty, you should see the Beast (Amarok).   I don't know how one man can filthy a car in such a short space of time! Looks like he's been off-roading!

Looks like you've been doing some heavy braking there Booth!

I feel your pain. I was getting concerned a few weeks back I'd missed my window to get my Winter prep done. Luckily I'd booked a few days of and the weather stayed dry and I managed to get it sorted.
I must admit I like the sense of achievement from taking a filthy car to a clean and shiny one...

Not particularly braking hard at all. In 3 months I've only had the front assist given me 2 warnings. Chance to build up enough speed to warrant braking hard, would be a fine thing. Canterbury city has gone into xmas traffic meltdown mode. In the space of a week my average mpg has plummeted from 24 to 19.9!

Great transformation! Nice winter prep. Bet you feel better driving it now.
It's very satisfying restoring the car to clean self (albeit temporarily). Hard work though. Fortunately I did my winter prep back in Oct, so hopefully getting it back into decent shape shouldn't be too bad. It's just finding time atm, and a gap in the weather. The two things never seem to come together at the same time.

Even the family have had enough of my filthy R and thought it would be funny to tell me their own not so subtle way. Came back from an errand to find this today, and my partner and daughter sniggering away!

That's it! Come rain or snow it's getting cleaned tomorrow. There's no way on this earth I can drive round in this skanky beast any longer :embarrassed: LOL.
-
haha no one can stand a dirty car ! my gti is exactly the same filthy as hell am also hoping to give it a early christmas wash tomorrow  (go away rain)
-
That is simply shocking! They should have your moderator duties revoked! Lol
I'm sure it will be its normal gleaming self tomorrow and you'll be putting us all to shame again!
-
I thought my car was dirty. But apparently not, so thanks for that

I bet your heart sank when you saw that? i'll bet the machine polisher will be out tomorrow! :'(

You should be putting ure foot down big time after that and be raging ,
Even better is it not time your husband and 9 year old should be learning how to wash the car properly! and he can then do the beast as well .
Its coming up to Christmas after all .
Then again it may be easier to do it yourself
-
Not raging. They have no idea that it could have damaged the paintwork - it hasn't - no damage done. They know now though.
Was just intended as a lighthearted joke. No point in going mad about it. I value my daughter's feelings more than I value my car's paintwork.
My daughter does know how to wash a car properly - she's seen me do it enough time. The other half has no inclination to start learning how to hand wash a car.
I would not let him within 3 feet of my car to clean it. It would end in a scratched car and divorce (if we were married).

I think you need to toughen up

I am sure they didn't know it could damage the car . and will be feeling bad , but then again it did get the car washed (assuming you have done it ) and they will be happy being taken out in a clean shiny R .
Oh Sorry just read you have cleaned the car . It is looking really gooood
My car is manky but if its dry tomorrow I will get it washed .

They're not feeling bad. I gently explained that next time they can draw a picture of the car and write it on that.
Yes, all done now. Clean for a day.
You know what, since he got the Amarok, they've largely abandoned my car! Preferring to cruise around in the Beast. Fine by me. Prefer lone driving anyway ;-)
