Title: Mk3 1996 1.8L 55kW immo location and bypassing it
Post by: golfrace on 03 December 2015, 18:36
I have a problem with an immoblizer. Not too often, it causes a cut out just after igniting the engine. A slight hit under the dash mostly fixes the problem

I would appreciate if someone could tell me the location of the immo, any hints about fixing it would be highly appreciated.

Maybe just the reader coil that is going faulty or the connection into immo box, what do the fault codes in ecu and immo box say?

Its a crap job to do but change "ignition/starter switch" (number 5)
It is a very common fault on MK3
