Doesn't sound too bad so far as deals go.  Is your GTI a standard or PP version?  Also have you check what you would get on Drive the Deal to use as a guide price when haggling the deal with your dealer.

Sounds good, just over £8k cost to change by my maths.

Was that a cash purchase or on PCP, and did you get the £1000 loyalty too?

£25337.94  on drive the deal that's including £1250 pcp and £1000 loyalty discount. If you can get £19k for your trade sounds a good deal to me

Does sound like a good trade in value, and prices for new ones are the cheapest they've been in a long time.

That sounds like a great trade in value. I was offered £18k back in September for my 18 month old fairly well specced car. Not a PP model but would it make that much of a difference?! I might try again soon as I could do with a bigger car, and a trade in of £19k would put me at even stevens from an equity point of view on my PCP deal.

A great post as I was thinking about asking the same question about my twenty six month old GTI. Guess what I'm doing later this week :-)

Blimey, good deal. Which dealer is that? I'm not a million miles from Cheshire and thinking they might do me a deal on a Passat Bi-TDI R-Line Wagon.

To be fair they did say it could run into March delivery if I make the jump. The new plate would be a perk. They do have a 3 door R in blue and 19's in the show room. The sales manger is going to provide me a number on Monday for that swich. Decisions decisions.

Who was this mate if you don't mind me asking? Not many new Rs sitting in dealers over here.
£6k seems pretty good to change tbh, I'd go for it

Hi Cossieian it would appear on my recent trips around the various local dealers most are carrying stock which surprised me to. I believe Agnews have 7 available for immediate purchase.

Might be something to do with the 25% drop in VW sales?

It would be interesting to know the split on that 25% decline...

Is it the same decline across all models and variants or diesel only?

It is a storm they need to weather... UK cars sales were up in the same period...

Most of you are probably too young to remember the Lancia Beta rust scandal... they never recovered in the UK. I expect the VW thing to blow over in a few months but there is always a chance that it won't...

where are these good trade in deals?. With the £1250 PCP and £1000 (repeat customer) deals and being the end of the year I thought now was a great time to change my current gti. The trader in prices I have been offered for my Oct 13 gti PP with dynamic chassis are £14500-16000 for a March swap. Just way off the mark as they offered me £19k in September!!! Can someone advise what garages are offering the good trade in prices and then can treat myself to a new gti order.
