Title: Not been on for a while.

I suspect the window seal at the bottom is allowing water in, is this common ? Also I really need my monza shadows refurbished is there anywhere that could do it that offer a decent warranty

I had the same issue with the rear door leaking in water after heavy rain a few months back. I had to remove rear door card, undo the bottom of the 'inner' door card (few bolts), dry it out, then apply lots of 'plumber golds' sealant (translucent), fasten back up the bottom of the inner door card and leave for 24 - 48 hours to set. Re-tested, no more leaks. Basically the rubber inner door card seal had failed, poor really on a 5/ 6 year old car. Re-assembled the door, all looks normal. I did look into replacing the inner door card, but it is riveted on in places, and is around £100 from TPS as it comes complete with electric window motor etc.

Very common on skoda fabia's, take a look on youtube for videos.

if you want your wheels diamond cut try the wheel specialist in ek or if you want them powdercoated try hbr in Dumbarton :smiley:

always replaced the seal with this stuff from this ebay seller

never had any issue after that.
I actually had to do the repair to my leon last yea with it too.
Best to replace the entire seal.

Post by: bcarlin on 19 December 2015, 20:34: Hi after spending most of the day drying out the floor carpet and spare wheel well I need to fix the water leak. What door seal do you replace ? The one on the actual door or the body one ?
The body seal is allowing water to come in at the bottom, not sure if this is due to the seal on the door being worn ? Would the water also work its way to the spare wheel area ?
