Title: bad remap? TDI pd130
Post by: alistairvr6 on 24 November 2015, 21:26
hi guys, had my mk4 pd130 for a good few months now and loving it.
when i picked it up i relised straight away that it was a fair bit faster than i thaught it should be for a pd130
and pulled like a train. only thing is that there is hardly any power before 2300rmp then it kicks is REALY hard
and you can feel the boost cutting back out again about 3500rpm.
i asked the guy i got it off who has had the car for 9 years before i got it if he had got it remapped and he said no.
but it seems like somthing isnt right. is there anyway of checking if a car has been remapped or not? i have used
the diognostic machine at my work and when i read the engine it comes up saying "fault code 17978 immobiliser locked ecu"
dont know if this means anything.

i know i have dribbled on a bit there but any help is appreciated as my clutch has just started slipping on full boost so
dont want to change it if it has to much of an agressive map on it would like to get that sorted first. cheers

Do some basics logs ect. Try also unplug the MAF and take it for a run. Does it boost any better?
