Title: Edition 35 pondering
Post by: Dubbit on 16 November 2015, 18:28
I been thinking about trading my 09 gti in for this edition 35. Is very low mileage & remapped to stage 2.

Is a beautiful car & pretty much exactly the same look wise as mine with different wheels.
Only thing that bothers me is I think the clutch will probably start slipping?

Do you guys think its worth it or save for when the mk8 comes out

I've seen this one advertised as well! Didn't know much about the edition 35 when I bought my 11 plate gti. Both that and the R were out of my price range. Personally I would rather have the R to get the power down. Saving my magic beans for a mk7 R in a couple of years when prices come down..

Have you modified yours at all? Mine is stage 2 and I'm loving it. Way more exiting than stock.

Hi eug2huge, I have remapped mine stage 1 but no further with it accept new race clutch after it started slipping that is what worries me with this ed 35 it is stage 2 & could start slipping after a while.
Obviously you wouldnt get that issue with the mk7 R. The new R's are lovely cars ive been pondering over a manual R too lol.

I think at that price a MK7 PP GTI would be best, basically buying the same car again just with the older EA113 based engine.

Yes I agree, old tech. Better the car you know as well.

GTI MK7 is highly tuneable. Not sure I'd get another GTI though, would have to be the R!!

I think he's talking about the one in the first post, it £21,488!

Surely the mileage can't be right as well!? 2133 miles...

My apoligies.

Ed35s seem to be £18000+, maybe if the mileage is genuine thats why they are asking so much?

Ave looked at your car on ebay and that's alot o car for the money. One boy at work had an ED30 think it had 360bhp and everybody that got a lift in it said it was fast but too hard! he progressed to an Audi A4 estate

What does the ed35 deliver to justify a 20k price tag?

What makes this even more bizarre is that you own a gti already

300bhp ish from a stage 1 remap, a bulletproof old skool CDL motor with no cam tensioner worries and roughly only 700 on the road
