I've swapped my daily from a Mk6 Golf GT Tsi Manual to a Mk7 Golf GTi PP with DSG. It started life as a dealer demo from Huddersfield VW registered in Sept 2014 so it seems to have a few extra toys. As well as performance pack it's got ACC and Park Assist, also seems to have dynamic lights. Anyway my question is how can I find out exactly what extras it has? I've got the owners manual but no log book (non VW dealer says that is becoming the norm these days - is that right or can I ask my local dealer (Martins of Camberley) to get me a replacement). I typed in my VIN to the volkswagen owners website and it found the car but again when I clicked on the service book this was blank.

If you have a look at the spare wheel well there should be sticker in there that has a load of 3 letter/digit codes on it. They are PR codes and if you type them into a website such as this: http://prsearch.planetvag.com (http://prsearch.planetvag.com) then it will tell you.
By the log book I take it you mean the service book? Do you know anything about the service history of the car? If it's been serviced at a VW main dealer then your local dealer should be able to give you a print out of the service history I think. Not sure how you'd go about getting a new book though..

Thanks for your help. Yes the car has full VW service history and I've got the receipts from it's 10,000 mile service in August. I've checked the boot and still trying to locate the sticker. I've had plenty of other VW's so normally know where these are.

Good to hear you have the invoice from the service, that's better than having just a stamp in the book, though it'd be worth tracking down a service book for future services I'd imagine.
Hmm odd that you can't find the sticker, in the spare wheel well and in the service book are the only places i know of that it would be. Looks like there has been instances of them being left loose/not fitted though: http://www.golfmk7.com/forums/showthread.php?t=250 (http://www.golfmk7.com/forums/showthread.php?t=250)
Try approaching your local dealer with your VIN no. and see what they can provide you.

If you register here https://erwin.volkswagen.de/erwin/showVehicleSearch.do, then enter your VIN, you can get the full factory code readout - can't remember if there is a cost or not

Car that has 10k miles on it and comes from non-VW dealer without a service book.....

Yes it does, starts at €7.

You should have a service book that came with the car but seeing as it's only had the one then it's not so bad f you sort it now.

I would be wanting to see the PDI stamp from the original supplying dealer too.....
The non-franchised dealer saying its 'becoming the norm' these days may be right for BMW but not correct for VW as they all still have physical service books and its absence is very concerning.
Re spec - ACC and 'dynamic' lights are all standard. Unless you mean DCC variable suspension settings (this can be confirmed from the settings menu but has no physical button (the giveway is that there will be a 'comfort' setting).
if you post up some shots of the interior we can usually spot if there are any extras from there.

I trust it came with 2 keys?

Might be lacking some standard UK spec equipment if it was one of those Irish import jobs that came through late in 2013.

Good point MH, oh oh!!!!

Haha! I love some some of the glass half empty comments . The car's been confirmed as registered as brand new on 5 Sept 2014 from Huddersfield VW. It was their demo for 6 months and then sold on to a lady owner who only had it for 6 months. I've also the 10,000 mile interim service invoice from West London VW. Still trying to find that sticker though!!!

It might be worth a call to West London VW to order a new Service manual - that way they can sell you a service manual and stamp it retrospectively for the service carried out.

The old "lady owner" line, love it
