Title: Mk7 Gti PP - Golf R
Post by: hastd2 on 04 November 2015, 19:35
Guys am looking into maybe changing over to a 5 door R from my 5 door Gti PP
What colours would be the most stunning to have? my brother has just picked up his Tornado red 5 door, so that's out the question,
I was looking at Pure White or the iconic Lapiz Blue am undecided which way to go. :undecided:

Whats the feedback out there???

Seen a LSG grey round town and it was a real head turner.

To be honest it looks good in any of the colours.  Out of Lapiz and Pure White, I prefer Lapiz (just not a white car person).  Reflex silver looks nice on the Mk7 too, suits the sharp lines.

What's your gut feeling?

If you remember I had a pure White Mk7 Gti PP, and had to change due to software problems and now running a Carbon Grey Gti PP.....am swaying towards the Lapiz Blue as its the iconic colour to the R, am just waiting my time till the right one appears.
I am very good friends with the sales man at Gti World in Edinburgh, and the deal on the white R is very tempting and I can drive it away this weekend.....am in a good position just now as I have a 1 1/2 yr newer car so I have a lot of equity on the Gti so the deal am getting is not to be sniffed at.....My brother just picked up his Tornado Red R a month ago and that looks very smart aswell.....I had a decent test drive from him as I went down to Gti World Edinburgh from North of Aberdeen to pick it up with him, so I got to drive it home from Dundee to Fraserburgh a 100 miles or so......

So very keen on a R, so if the right one pops up I might treat my self to an early Santa present

Dean is a top bloke at GTI World. I'm sure you know Doug that I had a lapis blue for a week from Dean and the colour is truly stunning. I know it's a very popular colour but I can understand why. I would go with either Lapis or possibly reflex silver which appears to be very rare

Lapis gets you noticed a lot because the colour is exclusive. You won't see an R Line rocking lapis. If you are looking for discrete I would say black

I tossed and turned over colour when ordering mine, it was between Lapiz and Red, in the end I choose red, a week before collecting I saw a Lapiz R and thought I'd made the wrong choice, then I collected mine and new I'd made the right choice

I think your brother was right

It's weird I never went through any other colour options with mine. It was lapis or a different car lol. Either way you'll be extremely happy, the car is awesome

Well if we are chucking every colour into the equation and all going in for a bit of pic whoring......DBP doesn't look too bad on the R either.

If it's a toss up between Lapiz and Pure White - Lapiz wins every time!

Novelty of lapiz wears office, i really regret not going white or limestone when they reordered mine as for me the finish is not wonderful especially compared to the night blue

Obviously I'm biased, but for me its Lapiz Blue.  A. Cause its exclusive to the R and B. Cause it looks the nuts!  But I've seen the R in the flesh in black, white, red and silver and it looks stunning in each of those colours, so good luck making your mind up

Cheers for all your feedback, Lapiz is still swaying my way, Think I will wait and see if Gti World get one in and will take it from there, my brothers Tornado red R looks the dogs, and hes the only one around here to have a red one, there are one or two Lapiz Blue and the odd white kicking about.

Watch this space
