Title: Golf mk3.5 cab, radio memory issues

I have an aftermarket stereo, jvc cd.
Everytime I turn ignition off then I lose time, bass treble settings etc. It keeps radio channels though.
It's driving me mad!
I've read that you just change the red and yellow wires over, but I took out the stereo this morning and there are no yellow and red wires to change(unlike photos i saw)
It's got a parrot handsfree in there so I disconnected that but it's still the same,
Any ideas??
