Hello all!
The Polos farewell journey was a trip up to london from Plmouth. Last year I put a stainless steel exhaust on, being a twin cam engine @ 3000 rpm the noise was unberable on the motorway. It was to sold to a spotty kid ( with hoodie & baseball cap) who was excited about the exhaust.I did mention the noise was too much for me and could get it replaced with a standard one but he was addoment. It was nice to see his face as I drove up the road he lived on, all smiles until he tryed to haggle over the agreed price. This nice boy whome seemed so happy that I would drive his new car all the way from Plymouth, suddenly turned into a total pike.
My problem at this point was after selling the polo was the first part of my journey, the funds raised would be a large part of the deposit for my new golf!!!
I took a gamble....... If I explain my situation to the guy he will understand and fork out the agreed price. NO he did'nt.
Using some choice words I got back in the polo and drove off.
I was about to ring Sheffield Motor Provider to explain my new situation when the phone rang    I reconised the number as the pike, his father was speaking now in an angry voice. His story from the boy had a little pepper on it to add spice, I got my version straight with the dad turned the car around and headed back.
Dad was very appologetic, he gave me the money & offered me the a lift to the tube station.
He opened his garage to reveal a MK5 Black gti. Got to Sheffield by train, drove home in a new GTI
Cheers
