Title: MK2 16V - Hydraulic clutch upgrade query
Post by: laurenceyon on 18 October 2015, 19:45
Hi All,

How do I upgrade the cable clutch on my MK2 16V KR to a hydraulic clutch? I want the same performance from my MK2 clutch as I get from my MK3 VR6 without having to replace the engine, etc - In order to achieve this result will I have to change the gearbox, pedal box, flywheel, etc?

I don't really want to change the gearbox/engine as she's a 16V, I want to keep her as original as possible.

Any help would be appreciated

some of the mk4 golfs had an 020 type gearbox (same as mk2) with a hydro clutch set-up. you might be able to just change the end of the box over but I think the slave cylinder mounts to the actual gearbox casing so you would need to make a support for it.
