Title: Wheel Bubbles
Post by: Chief1337 on 15 October 2015, 16:50
Hey All,

Just noticed two nice little 'bubbles' that have appeared under the coating on one of my wheels.

Warranty job?

Looks like corrosion forming under the paint :-(

Yip - must be a warranty job?

Yep, if the wheel had a clear coat at that point you'd probably be seeing whiteworm. The paint will have been thin around the edges of the tyre valve hole and corrosion has got in by the looks of it.

Had same on Amg alloys on my C Class . Mercedes replaced all four even tho car just short of three years old . Their reason was you would have different shades of alloy wheel if only two replaced after that amount of time .

I just noticed this week that I have exactly the same corrosion on one wheel in the same area. I would advise everyone to check their wheels especially around the valves. Going in on Saturday to speak to them to see if they will replace it under warranty.
