Title: Mk2 golf 1.9 tdi conversion help
Post by: Louis1134 on 12 October 2015, 10:35
Hi
I'm new to the forum and just bought a mk2 1.6 driver,
I have just been given a mk3 1.9 tdi engine and gearbox
just wondering what parts are needed to install in the car
I have never tried an engine swap so hopefully not to bad
Apart from sourcing a wiring loom
Do i need an Ecu from a mk3 and the pedal box
Any info would be helpful

If the Diesel box is non hydro you should be ok as is, someone like M"mart will know.
ECU/loom definitely.
Not that tricky if you are ok with spanners and a bit if fabbing

Thanks for the reply :)
I'll have to check the box out tomorrow and yeah cool I found a mk3 tdi down the scrappy with full wiring harness and Ecu still intact
Is it worth getting the old tank out of it and the pedal box?
I'm not bad with a spanner and some light fabbing
