Hello,
New to the forum and I've been searching it vastly to find out information on replacing the headlights without much success on understanding any of the technical information provided. I have had my golf GTI for about 8 weeks and i have been disappointed on how the lights look (standard halogen lights). It seems with new technology you can't just swap out headlights any more without getting any subsequent problems. i have come across the following headlights link below, which after reading they advertise they are almost a straight swap out plug and play (please correct me if i'm wrong as my knowledge is limited), is this the case or will i be presented with further problems if i was to purchase these headlights under the assumption i can carry out a straight swap?
your guidance and time would be greatly appreciated

I don't have those lights but I have the rear lights from xenonz
I had tried to organise a group buy for the rear lights and headlights and some guys on here did get the headlights. If you can find the group buy thread you can try to message the guys who got the headlights.
My understanding is that they are straight plug and play. Not coding required. But I am not sure if the LEDs work as DRLs. I seem to recall reading they work on the sidelight switch only...
There's a few mk6 xenon style headlights on eBay too....

You need to check the fitments carefully as not many aftermarket kits will pass the more stringent MOT on xenon lights now introduced even they do not throw up error messages. If built after 2010:
HID lights were officially regulated from 2010 with the main per-requisite that all vehicles fitted xenon lights must have the following components:
Self leveling system.
Automatic closure system.
Headlamp wash system.

Yeh some on here have them fitted. Some have had to code with VCDS. According to the advert will pass the MOT. Have dealt with the company for the adaptor wiring harness for the retrofit and were very helpful.
