Ok so I have now had my R for 6 months and yesterday driving down the A47 a stone flicked up and cracked my windscreen, this is the second time it has happened in 3 months.....god I hate Norfolk!

Bad luck pal. I've had one go too. Still had to pay £75 excess which is a PITA.
-
I've got two bullet holes and a crack in mine... but not serious enough to replace.
At the rate they appear its not worth changing until I need to.
Must be to do with the profile of the front end I think...
-
It's probably the vibrations from them dynaudio speakers!
-
That is brutal. What hit it, A boulder?
-
I have no idea, I was cruising about 60 on the inside lane because I was approaching a roundabout, following a civic, I didn't see anything, but it was an almighty smack. Another cm and my windscreen would be fine but my paint would have been ruined....I know what I would prefer!
-
All of my impacts are very low - down on the black strip of the windscreen.
Probably bouncing off of the bonnet - its stone chip city... looks like I've parked next to the fishing boats in the harbour :-/

Ouch! That's a beauty.
I'd have thought Norfolk was a great place, no hills so you must get fantastic fuel mileage!
How many miles do you do a year? Quite a few I'd guess.
-
My MPG is good if I try, I can hit mid 40s but average is around 31mpg, the main issue is the amount of rural roads and agricultural vehicle leaving crap all over the roads.
I absolutely destroy the miles in any car I have, which is why I lease it through my business. 6 months in and I'm at 13k
-
At least you drive something nice for that sort of mileage and haven't sold out to an oil burner!
-
sh!t happens, I had two screens cracked within 6 months.... not a lot you can do.

I had a bust screen in 5 weeks, replaced. My current screen has 3 very small surface chips that won't repair - and my glass excess is £100.
The Autoglass guy said they're getting thinner and thinner - weight saving.
-
Mine's only insured 3TF.... expensive business for company to replace heated screens.
-
This is my second in 2 months, I know there isn't anything I can do but still annoying
-
I have no excess on my windscreen, but I'm going on holiday on Saturday.
-
Had 3 chips in the space of 2 weeks, one had to be repaired which they now charge for.
Annoyingly the repaired chips aren't flush on windscreen so damage wiper blades thus leaving streak....!

All fixed, absolutely superb service from Silver shield once again, they even helped me remove my sound actuator after we all spent 15minutes trying to stop it rattling.
100% recommend
-
Hmmm the screwing up of the soundaktor causing rattles and messing up my HBA sensor are fears that make me live with the cracked window...
You haven't help here
-
Oh they didn't make it rattle, it has always rattled. They were just nice enough to help me try and fix whilst the window was out. The windscreen replacement is perfect.
