Title: Exterior black trim
Post by: Greerso on 03 October 2015, 00:36
Guys any recommendations for something to apply to the plastic sill (and other exterior plastics) on the Mk7 Golf - it's new so doesn't need any restoration products just something to help keep the grime out and make it easier to clean - now that the Indian summer's about to end

I like to use Auto Finesse Revive on my plastics, gives a great look and beads water like the paintwork after its applied. Having said that I haven't tried any other trim products so have no comparison. It works for me though :)

I chop and change but really like Auto Finesse Dressle and Chemical Guys New Look Tyre and Trim Gel, and swap between the two.  AF is a spray but best sprayed onto a micro fibre for sills. CG is much thicker gel so need to apply with a micro fibre.

Both are great and AF very versatile, can use on interior and exterior trim, plus great for the engine bay.  This link shows its versatility.  You can get it on most decent detailing websites.

The Chemical Guys stuff is also pretty good as a tyre dressing.
