Hi guys this is the first time I've posted.
I own a mk3 golf gti 8v. Recently it started juddering around 3000 revs. As far as I can tell the timing is right so first I replaced all filters followed by dizzy cap rotary arm hall sender spark plugs ht leads ignition coil. But still the problems there I've read loads of posts.
I figured I'd post this before admitting defeat and taking it to a garage. Any advice would be a great help thanks

Which engine?

Agg I think

Does it stop at 3500 rpm, is it a proper hard judder/miss or more of a stutter and loss of power for 500rpm?
In order of cost only:
Search U281 buy one and scan it (could show up a bunch of faults, I bet you have a wheel sensor gone )
Search relays and change them.
Search crank position/angle sensor, change it
Search throttle body position/reset, Free but needs vagcom

Paul, where are you in the country?
If you're near me I can scan your car for faults and map throttle body after cleaning.

I have exactly the same problem on my 16v

Thanks for this,
U281 shows no engine faults (only ALL the ABS wheel sensors!), so no joy there.
Crank sensor has been changed so ain't that.
That leaves throttle body position / relays.
Can anyone suggest anything else?
