Title: Handbrake Warning Light.
Post by: oakgreener on 29 September 2015, 17:44
This thing doesn't work and hasn't worked for ages, possibly years. So today with nothing else to do and a nice sunny day, I thought I'd have a look. Checked all the usual stuff, switch, fuses etc. then popped out the light unit on the dash. Nothing connected to it and no sign of a plug either, when I pop out the switches and blanks. So now I'm wondering if it's ever worked. I have no inclination to rip the dash out to find it.
So what i want to know is, does yours work. Mine's a run out model and I'm wondering if VW ran out of connectors for the buggers

Instead of taking the whole dash out, try just removing the lower half and having a peek up, see if its dangling down. When I took my dash out I found the plug for the clock on the dials, the glovebox courtesy light, and years of obvious 'botching'!!!
